New program made possible through a partnership with the Tampa Bay Lightning

The University of South Florida College of Business (USF) has recently announced plans to launch an MBA program in Sport and Entertainment Management, which is aimed at students who aspire to careers in senior level positions within the sport and entertainment businesses.

According to a USF press release, the new two-year program, which was made possible through a partnership with the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team, will instruct students in "the business fundamentals of the sports and entertainment industry" and provide "graduate students with paid internships to help them experience how those lessons play out in the industry."

The MBA program will include a mix of business fundamentals and sports-specific curriculum, including courses such as "Resolving Conflict," and "Economics of Sport." The new MBA program is set to start in August.
