University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School has partnered with UNC's School of Medicine to offer a new MD/MBA dual degree program.
The program is aimed at medical students who would like to develop a comprehensive understanding of business at it applies to healthcare. ?Graduates will be better prepared for leadership roles in all aspects of the health-care industry, such as hospital management, insurance and payer organizations, and entrepreneurial and commercialization enterprise," according to a UNC press release.
The program, which takes five years to complete, will award students both an MD and an MBA. The program includes an experiential learning component where students will work directly with clinicians and health business experts to help develop innovative and cost-saving solutions to pressing healthcare issues.
