Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIU) has announced that it will launch a joint degree program that will combine an MBA with a Master of Science in Professional Media and Media Management.
The new program is offered jointly by SIU's College of Mass Communication and Media Arts and the College of Business. Students will learn about contemporary media industries in a global context. The program will also cover some practical production skills.
Graduates of the new MBA/MS program will be prepared for a variety of roles in web, film and television, and publishing, as well as in advertising firms and nonprofit media companies.
The MBA/MS will take place primarily on-campus, with some courses offered online. It replaces another dual-degree program that combined an MBA with a Master of Arts in Media Theory and Research.
The new MBA/MS in Professional Media and Media Management program will take two years to complete and will launch this fall.
