The Financial Times Ranks MBA Programs for Entrepreneurship

Stanford, Babson, and Darden lead this year's ranking

The Financial Times has released its second annual ranking of the best MBA programs for entrepreneurship.

This year, Stanford's Graduate School of Business leads the list for the second year in a row. According to the FT, of Stanford's MBA class of 2012, one-third of the graduates started their own company.

Stanford is followed by Babson College's Olin Graduate School of Business. The FT's survey found that almost half of Olin's 2012 graduates—46 percent—started their own company. Olin is followed by the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business, Dartmouth College's Tuck School of Business, and UCLA's Anderson School of Management; all top five business schools are based in the US. In fact, US business schools dominated the ranking, with 15 of the 25 schools ranked being based in the US. The top non-US school is Spain's IE Business School, which came in this year at position number eight.

The FT has expanded the number of programs it ranked; last year it only ranked 10.

Besides the number of graduates who started their own business, the FT also looked at how many of those businesses were still operating at the end of 2015.
