Rice University's MBA Programs Now STEM-Designated

International students who complete the school's MBA will now be eligible for more time on their post-study visa

The Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University has announced that its MBA programs are now STEM-designated.

Being designated as STEM—science, technology, engineering, mathematics—means that international students who complete the MBA will be eligible to apply for a 24-month extension on their post-study work visa, potentially allowing them to stay in the US for up to three years after graduation.

Students who pursue the school's full-time MBA have the option of choosing one of nine specializations, including energy, finance, operations management, and more.

With the new designation, Jones joins a growing number of US business schools who have pursued the STEM label for their MBAs. These programs tend to be very popular for international students looking to leverage their MBA to be able to live and work in the US after graduation.
