Canada's Queen's University Launches New FinTech Degree

New master's-level course can be completed in one year

Queen's University's Smith School of Business, in Canada, has announced the launch of a new fintech master's program.

The new program—the Master of Financial Innovation and Technology (MFIT)—is designed to help students understand the growing field of financial technology (fintech).

Featuring weekend and evening classes, the new program is designed for those who are already employed. Typically, according to the school, applicants should have at least two years of work experience, but exceptional applications without work experience will also be considered.

The Master of Financial Innovation and Technology will equip students with a variety of skills in financial models, data, and technology. Some courses that will be included in the program include "Digital Strategy," "Automated Investing," and "AI Ethics and Policy," among others. Students will have the option to apply credits obtained in the MFIT to the Queen's MBA program.

The new program is set to launch in November. For more information, please see the Queen's MFIT program webpage.
