Hello

I am a graduated Civil engineer with 3 years work experience. Unfortunately i have a low gpa of 2.1 because of some personal issues. I have a 720 GMAT score and i am also a certified public speaker with good negotiating skills. I am really interested in MBA at the University of Cape town. I was wondering if I am eligiblible?

Hi Rav-ish the selection criteria of most of the universities work on a weightage basis . Some selection measures are mandatory, some selection measures are accessory and add weight to your prospects. If they have mentioned that you must have a minimum GPA , I would suggest that you reach out to their coordinator personally and write a motivation letter, explaining the interest and in what circumstances the academic performance was lower. I am sure you will find a way. In any case I would suggest to not limit yourself to one university. Do consider other universities and MBA programs in the world. If you have any other questions , do not hesitate to ask.

Cape Town only requires three years of work experience to apply; cohort averages will normally have around 5-7 years of work experience. I think that would be another ding for you. You should really reach out to the school and ask them to give you a realistic idea of your chances.
