EMBA Programs in Africa

Hello Discussion Board Members,

I'm Egyptian and currently looking at Executive MBA programs in Africa.

I've narrowed my search down to these schools: The American University in Cairo, the Mediterranean School of Business (Tunis,) and ESC Toulouse in Casablanca (in French.)

Any input on these programs is appreciated.

These are three good programmes. AUC is a gold standard, but quite costly. It's nice to see the ESC programme get mentioned. One of my former professors at London Business School teaches at the MSB, and she's excellent.

I think ENPC Paris Tech also runs an MBA in Morocco: http://www.ehtp.ac.ma/index.php/formation-continue/mba/presentation-mba

If Lebanon is possible, then the ESCP ESA joint EMBA is excellent.

Yes, while I would consider the Kellogg program, it's not that easy to get to Tel Aviv on a regular basis.

The school of business seems to have just two staff, neither of whom are full professors: an assistant for accounting and the an associate for finance: http://www.nileu.edu.eg/Faculty.html Both seem to have good PhDs. I would suggest you focus on internationally-accredited programmes.

AUC's is the only one. And it's very recent - it just launched last spring:

That's not the case. There's the Maastricht programme, for example, I think Ohio also has a programme.

Thanks for the correction, Duncan - I wasn't thinking of the ones offered by schools based outside of Egypt. Georgia State also offers an EMBA in Alexandria.

If there is an AACSB accredited school in my home country, doest it worth spending more money on an international accredited school? I understand the value brought from studying abroad such as better command of the language, better communication skills,..etc. but will it substantially affect my potential career prospectives?

Probably. If you want to work for organisations that hire a lot of MBAs internationally, then almost certainly.
