The only one of these programs that would carry any weight in the US would be the American University in Cairo, since it's AACSB-accredited. I wouldn't consider the others.

However, if your goal is to work in the States, there's some sense in waiting until you get there to start your MBA program. Another three years of work experience, and using some of that time for GMAT prep could make you competitive at a tier 1 or 2 program there - significantly increasing your lifetime earning potential and providing better, more relevant networking potential.

Another alternative would be to consider a distance learning program based in the US - UNC, Kelley, etc. Although these wouldn't have the same value as a top-tier in-class program, their alumni networks and career services would be more geared towards finding a job in the US than a Egypt-based program.

If I go with the idea of waiting till I get there then what do you think I should do now? It will take me like 2 years to be there for some family business in Egypt.

I do have a job in an international telecommunications company retail stores at the moment and I was thinking to utilize my time outside work to study for the CPA exam (Certified Public Accountant)
I do have a solid background in Accounting but zero work experience and MBA is still my top priority.

I agree that all the MBA programs in Egypt are not weighted much in the States and I live in Alexandria and traveling to Kandahar I mean Cairo is something I really hate.

Let me know please what you think of that because I feel that my time is wasted not studying anything at the moment.

MBAs are really designed for people with work experience, in that it helps you frame your real-world expertise with an academic framework. That's why most world-class MBA programs require at least two years of work experience for entry.

So I think that if an MBA was your goal, your best option would be to get out in the field and work.

A CPA or other professional certification would be a good investment of your time; as would networking, going to conferences, etc.

I can't. The AUC is the only internationally-accredited MBA in the country.

Hello Guys, I know that Alexandria University Faculty of Commerce (AUFC) in collaboration with the Robinson College of Business (RCB) at Georgia State University (GSU) is presenting EMBA program "Executive Master of Business Administration"
I don't know if that has any value in the States or worldwide but i think this program will be valuable, what do you think?

For $8k you can't go wrong, but of course this will not have any real value in the US. The GSU ceritifcate states simply that the curriculum is developed together with GSU, so no assurance that the candidate has met any particular standard.

Dears, What about Maastricht school of managment (MsM) program via RITI, it's AMBA accredited, also there is a new program from University of Toledo via Amercian Chamber, it should be also AACSB accredited, pls. assist me with your advice regarding both programs.

@Duncan: My goal is to have a good value program of which I gain a real business values & orientation and feel the diffrence after graduation, meanwhile acccrediation is also important for me, so i was thinking of MSM, as AMBA accredited & CHEA accredited through ACBSP & IACBE but don't know although the program is accredited from CHEA does it have any values when go to USA?

CHEA accreditation doesn't matter so much: it's a good sign on minimum quality for degrees in the US, but different CHEA members have different standards, and AACSB is the one that major US employers take seriously for MBAs. Toledo and AUC have AACSB accreditation, and that will be taken more seriously in the US

MSM exists almost exclusively as a an awarder of degrees for programmes abroad. I know that with the MSM program in Romania, which I guess is typically, the teaching is done by instructors from the region. Many of them are not academics, or even professional teachers, and I don't think any are from MSM. So, I think you will have a more uneven quality of students than on the Toledo or AUC courses.

That said, it will be better than unaccredited MBAs.

Really tired of thinking between AUC and UT? both of them are expensive
in AUC I can apply for a 100% shcolarship but is very far from my home (almost 2 hours driving)? while in UT I can get only 50% and it is near my home

I think this really depends on your goals, and on how desirable you are as a candidate. I don't think there will be many 100% scholarships for part-time programmes.
