I'm assuming that you are an international student. You can see the full listing of AACSB-accredited programmes on its website. It's not a long list, so you can check them by hand. My guess is Memorial might be the cheapest, since they have a fees freeze in that province http://www.business.mun.ca/programs/masters/mba/index.php

There are actually quite a few MBA programs in your budget. The Beedie MBA is based in Vancouver (great city), and is $36k.

There's also St. Mary's - Sobey and Telfer in that range. In Montreal, there's HEC Montreal and Concordia. Toronto's got Ryerson, which is around $30k.

How is St. Mary's for placements (especially in comparison to Ryerson). Also, Montreal is interesting to me but am not sure about going there to look for work after the MBA, since I do not speak French (I've read elsewhere that you need French to work in the city). Do you see this as a problem?

You'll have to ask St. Mary's for placement information because the school doesn't publish any publically. The program's in Halifax, which doesn't really have any "sexy" industries like Toronto or Montreal, but does have an active port and a decent communications sector. So there's that.

For Montreal, you'll probably want to have a good grasp of business French if you want to get a job there afterwards. Not every job is going to require it, but most will, depending on the industries you're looking at.

The Ryerson program is close to that but a bit more. It's now ranked in the Economist, which gives it a bit more credibility than it had before.

What do you think about Concordia and HEC Montreal?

I think they're both decent schools, but neither has the stature nor network of McGill. I'd say that HEC might have the slight edge, given that it is a French school in a city where French is the predominant business language.
