Canadian MBAs are the lowest paid among the top business schools. The Financial Times has ranked the 50 top schools worldwide (http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/top-mbas-for-finance-2017): Toronto; Queen's and Western universities are all in the bottom five for salary.
It's certainly not because of a lack of expertise or employer satisfaction: indeed, the six schools in the top 50 with the higher percentage of MBAs going into finance are those three schools plus Hong Kong's three leading schools. You might image that the top schools for finance would be those in New York. Indeed, Columbia, NYU and Cornell have 39% of their MBAs in finance. But it's even more at those Canadian schools, with half of Toronto MBAs going into finance.
The rankings reflect the consistently lower salaries obtained by top MBAs in Canada. Perhaps Canadian employers are really benefitting from the large supply of international talent enabled by their open immigration laws?
