Choosing a canadian university - MBA Fulltime .. Suggestions ??????

Hello Everyone ,

I'm planning to do a fulltime MBA program from canada but i m confused whether to do it from a college or a University .
I Believe this would be the best platform , from where i can get the best idea .""""My main aim is to get a decent job in specialised field of study ."""

Here are few points i would like to share

1. I have 2 yrs of work experience in sales .

2. My qualification - MBA (MArketing - fulltime) + BBA(I plan to do another MBA from canada bcoz my previous didnt help me much . )

3. GMAT = 530 (Pretty low v-20 , Q -44)

4.My budget would be around 15 lacs
5. I m looking for a decent business school at decent location which helps me in getting a job as soon as i complete my MBA .

6. Above all , Which Specialization is in demand in canada coz my aim would be to settle down in canada only ??

It's a bit unusual for students who already have an MBA to get another one. That's something that you'll have to explain in your applications - in terms of what you are looking for beyond your first MBA - and why that one didn't work out for you. From what I understand, admissions teams generally frown on candidates who already have MBAs.

Can you study and re-take the GMAT? The reason I ask is that you'll be hard pressed to get into any school in Canada that is worth your money with a 530: I think the average score at McGill is 660; Sauder is 650; Rotman is 638. If you were to get tutoring and put a lot of time into practice tests and were able to get your score into the 650 range, then I'd think you'd have more options.

Hi Ralph, I noticed that you did not mention Ivey; is this school not in the same league with the afforementioned?

Not at all. I was just throwing out schools based on average GMAT scores - I didn't mean to neglect Ivey!

Ivey's a good school - I'd rank it as comparable to McGill or Schulich - although I think Rotman has probably edged past all of them in the last few years. A lot of it is based on geography and your industry, though: if you're in Toronto you have better access to multinationals and the finance industry. Ivey's in London, Ontario - there's some startup money there, and it's an IT and medical center as well.
