Find the MBA in Canada

Hi everyone,

I had recently graduated from B-school and got my MSc. in International Business from HULT International Business school in USA. I am now considering to take MBA from of the best Canadian B-schools, which one do you recommend base on my profile and my decision criteria?

Target Schools:
Desautels , HEC Montereal, John Molson, Alberta, Haskayne, Sauder, Beedie

Decision Criteria:(by order)
1.Tuition fee
2. Available scholarships
3. Job opportunity for international graduates
4. University reputation among the companies
5. Program Specialization (Project MGT or Supply Chain are my desired fields for study and work)

My Profile:
Bsc. Industrial Engineering - GPA 3.10 (Iran)
MSc. International Business - GPA 3.15 (USA)
2 Years of experience in Oil and Gas industry (Project MGT)
1 Year of experience in Solar Energy Industry (Biz Analyst)
GMAT: 550 ( I will retake it in Nov, with aim of 700)
Currently I am working with a start-up Co. as researcher

Your lower-than-average work experience will set you up for a slight disadvantage for the top schools, so you'd do yourself a favor to get as high of a GMAT score as possible.

You're not considering any MBA programs in Toronto? Rotman and Schulich, for instance?

In terms of post-graduation career options, it really depends on your career goals. If you have entrepreneurial aspirations, Montreal is a good start-up hub, and McGill and Concordia tend to be good routes into it.. Although keep in mind that you'd want to have some knowledge of French if you wanted to work in Montreal after graduation.

While the BC and Alberta schools tend to be less reliable for good post-graduation career options, they are still pretty decent, depending on your goals. If you wanted to stay in the energy sector, for instance, Alberta or Haskayne would be reasonable options.

Hi

I have 20 years of work experience in the defence from India. I wanted to change over to the corporate and was ineterested in natural resources, sustainability/ environment management and was thinking of an mba from Canada. Could you guide me as regards acceptance in mba course with a gmat of 590 in canada and most importantly job availability post mba in canada. I was looking at edwards, alberta and haskayne.

http://www2.macleans.ca/2010/09/16/canadas-m-b-a/ looks useful. I think Saskatchewan is a one year programme, so the two year programmes better meet your goals. Your GMAT is a little low for Calgary.
