Interested in doing an EMBA, currently based in Kuala Lumpur

Hello Fellow Board Members,

I would kindly seek your expert advise on the following:-
I am Oil and Gas professional, currently hold a managerial position. I am 30 years old, nationality - Indian. By qualification I am a Mechanical Engineer. I am based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I have always dreamt of doing a MBA ever since I graduated from my engineering days. I have even cracked CAT twice and did get invitation to attend the interview from IIM-C and IIM-B (both unis are in India) but unfortunately due to economic circumstances then, I couldn't make my dream a reality. Now, I want to do the EMBA but unfortunately in Malaysia, their aren't any good universities to do that. The feedback I got from Malaysians here, that it would be complete waste of time and money.

Can you please advise how to do an EMBA in another country keeping a full time job here in Malaysia. Is it even possible to do such a thing? Or is there really some good universities in Malaysia to do an EMBA and I have been mislead. Kindly would request for your valuable time to give me some kind of guidance. Obliged !! Regards. TM

There are some good local options: use the MBA program search on the top left to find accredited schools. Nottingham's campus in Malaysia is worth considering. But, yes, for the best outcomes the best programmes in your region are in Singapore.

Thank you Mr. Duncan for replying to my query. I will certainly do some more R & D before I make my decision. Indeed Nottingham University would be the choice anyday for EMBA in Malaysia, given there aren't much of a choice :-). Thank you again for your time and will look forward to more such productive interactions.

You also have a few good flexible options in Singapore:

Nanyang's EMBA meets once a quarter if you can get away for two weeks at a time. SMU's program is similar, although it rotates one- and two-week residencies.

There's also an American school operating an EMBA out of Singapore - Temple Fox. This program meets two weekends a month, so there's minimal disruption in terms of working days.
