Which of these MBA programs is the best one in Australia? I am not from the country but want to move there, permanently.

I am thinking seriously about AGSM. My understanding is that Melbourne is a risky choice at the moment since it recently redesigned its MBA program. And MGSM isn't as well known as AGSM. But that might be a misunderstanding since I am not from the country. Please correct me if I am wrong.

If I were to apply to either AGSM or MGSM I could aim for the January 2016 starts... But for Melbourne I would have to wait until fall 2016, which is not ideal.

I think you mean Melbourne, not MGSM?

Sorry for the confusion, I was meaning that I am interested in applying to all three schools. If I just look at the FT rankings, they are in this order:

MGSM
AGSM
Melbourne

But then if I sort the ranking by "international mobility," as per the other post you referred to, this is the order:

AGSM
Melbourne
(big gap)
MGSM

It's a bit conflicting...

There's not a conflict at all. Those two variables need not be correlated.

In general, AGSM sounds like a safer bet, given its high international mobility score and the fact that it's been a consistent fixture in the ranking since at least 2007. MGSM, on the other hand, has a strong position this year but has only been in the ranking one other time in the past decade, at the very very bottom in 2010.

Melbourne could be an interesting choice, but I'd be curious to see how its graduates fared after the program's relaunch. That could be something you can ask the school.

re Melbourne: I'm curious about this as well. From what I understand the current FT rankings only reflect the data from graduates of the class of 2011... And since the Melbourne program was redesigned in 2012, it's hard to tell what kind of effects that the redesign has had...

The schools published a more recent placement report. Students are doing well.

No, these won't have the same career outcomes as the ranked schools. I wasn't able to find any career reports from these schools on their websites so you'll have to ask them for that info. The Economist says that Queensland's post-MBA salary is $131k but there are reasons to be skeptical about that.

Hi,
I am from IT background having 4 yrs of experience in software field. I applied for MBS, AGSM, ANU and MGSM (MBA program) , out of which I got an admit from ANU and MGSM and got rejected from the other two.
MGSM has secured its position in top 100 in 2015,I am not from Australia and not sure whether I should accept the offer from MGSM.

Also,
- What are the chances getting a job in Management field considering the technical background?

I might give another try to MBS and AGSM if not MGSM. But I think I should not invest more time.

Pleaseeee help me with MGSM.

If you got into MGSM, which is ranked, I don't see any reason to consider ANU, which is unranked and not accredited by AMBA, AACSB, or EQUIS.

People transition from tech roles into management all the time, and an accredited MBA program is one really good way to do just that. But it will take focus and commitment during the program, and having realistic career goals as well.
