Gisma begins insolvency process with future of school in doubt

GISMA, the German business school which awards degrees from Purdue and Hannover universities, is insolvent. Which explains the messages people on this board reported, saying that there would be no intake this year.

How does this even happen? I would assume that with the increased interest for MBA programs in Germany in general, people would be lining up to throw money at the school.

I wonder what's going to happen to the incoming batch of EMBA students.

Full-time MBA programmes make a loss. GISMA didn't make much money from the EMBA programme, since several other schools shared in that project. It never had the time or effort to build up executive education. Interesting to compare with ESMT, which started with exec ed.
