Hello @Duncan, Say I am multilingual (French, German and English) and worked most my life in tourism Industry with already around 15 years of experience out of which 10 years of leading teams, product and business development. Now I want to explore other career opportunities and gain international exposure. GMAT 590 (first attempt) Which MBA would be suitable? IS HHL MBA worth considering? I`ve checked FT ranking and HHL MBA is unranked unlike MIM. I have BBA in tourism marketing.

My goals are straightforward: I want to take the leadership, communication, teamwork, stress and time management, creativity, and problem-solving skills I developed in the tourism industry and apply them in a business environment where they can be utilized and further enhanced through an MBA. I’m eager to expand these abilities into more diverse and strategic business areas.

I agree with you that career strategy will be quite beneficial for me; Do you mean career services at business schools? You are welcome to share suggestions on other business schools that might align with my background and aspirations. And what is so interesting about HHL in your opinion? I noticed it lacks triple accreditation. Would you consider that a red flag or a significant disadvantage compared to other schools.

Many thanks Duncan for your kind suggestion. And what would be options in English-speaking countries? By the time I join HHL I can easily reach C1.

If you are in a German speaking country and focussed mostly on language acquisition then yes. Otherwise, unless you speak Dutch or a Scandinavian language, that's challenging

Bayes, located in London, offers a 12-month program with strong global recognition and excellent consulting connections. HHL Leipzig provides a one year or 21-month program in Germany, known for entrepreneurship and growing international presence. Bayes has higher tuition but potentially higher salaries, while HHL offers good ROI, especially in the German market. Bayes has a more diverse, global network, whereas HHL's is tight-knit and German-focused. Your choice depends on preferred work location, program length, budget, and long-term career goals in the consulting industry.

I think that's a trivial difference, since they aim at totally different students and pools of employers. Bayes is *the* business school in the City. It's always been physically and organizationally part of the City of London, and it serves the ecosystem around the City's banking, insurance and maritime industries. It's a stable insider. HHL is the oldest German business school only on paper, and even though it's an important thread in the economic regrowth of Saxony, i's highly entrepreneurial. As a private school refounded with the help of McKinsey and Insead, something of an edgy outsider.

Ps As I say, these schools attract different students and employers. You can't think of similarly-ranked schools as being fungible.

I get an Impression that it is better to do MSc in Management (for example in Frankfurt School) then MBA in general in Germany. MBA are mostly designed for developing soft skills (teamwork, leadership, communication etc) and networking.

And if to do MBA then probably in the top business school that has international brand recognition LBS, INSEAD, Oxford, Cambridge etc. Correct me if I am wrong :) Have a great start of the week!

Compared to other countries, the German labour market is certainly predisposed toward the MiM. MiM students are more likely to be, or able to work in, German. They fit into a management structure that is designed for functional managers [in the model of the Diplom Kaufmann] rather than general managers. However, this is not a choice for applicants. If you have less work experience, you can only apply for a MiM, not an MBA, and vice versa. If you take a MiM, and want to top that up later, then the ideal choice would be an EMBA if you wanted to stay in Germany or a full-time MBA if you wanted to leave it.
