Thanks Duncan for the candid reply. I plan to start shortly a beginners course on Italian language before I land in Italy and do intend to get agressive with the language course whilst in Italy. Though I am aware that it still is a challenge I am accepting this humongous task only to help me scrape through initial employment opportunity in Italy. The only next best option could be to scout for a job in UK and or US. These are my dream places , though. I am open to employment in any place. My work life exposure has been far eastern countries (over 11 years). I am not really looking at other MBA schools as I want to get this qualification ASAP and am really avoiding September 2012 intake which most MBA schools offer. My only concern is the appreciability of MIP degree in UK , US & generally in Asian countries.

Well, I think you might be assuming a lot.

Unless you already speak Spanish or Portuguese, you will not go from beginner to fluent in Italian by the end of the course if you are also taking a full-time MBA.

I don't think you can assume that you will find work in Italy. That seems unlikely.

MIP is a very north Italian school. It's not well known internationally. Only schools in the very top tier will be understood and welcomed worldwide.

Study in the region where you want to work.

Honestly French is much more similar than Portuguese to italian :-)
Italian and spanish are very common (especially some italian dialects are very close to spanish). Sometimes I meet people from our spanish unit.. they speak spanish I speak italian.. it's not easy but we understand each other. The same is not for portuguese .. (I had some experience). French is also quite simple... most of the words are very similar, similar grammar, ecc
When I was at university I had a Swedish friend.. he started to study italian from scratch and he reached a good level after 8 months: but be careful, he avoided to speak english, he studied a lot italian and he attended only italian people.. more he didn't use to dedicate much time to engineering subjects! You won't be able to do the same during an mba.
About job... Italy is on the verge of a default: go to Switzerland if you can (as most italians dream ) because here everybody is trying to relocate

Hi Duncan, Is there any lists of MBA colleges which top MNCs usually refer too? What I mean to ask is that since MIP now is in the TOP 100 global MBA ranks of FT rankings, does this not help in creating a brand value which has a reference ? For sure, different ranking syatems base their findings on different scenarios -for eg. The Economist's "WHICH MBA?" does not include MIP. The top 15-20 MBA schools wil always almost be present in both the rankings albeit the rankings would itself change.

So in the above sense would it not be a good reference point and possibility of future prospects in countries like UK, USA?

I have not included Italy now as the language scene immediately (and I agree to a great extent) pops up.

A fight for job will only further increase tomorrow.

As already mentioned only the very top in europe like INSEAD or IMD can offer some chances in other regions,

otherwise , they are country specific.

also uk/us have several business schools dominating lists like FT. why shud a company look outside when they can get it from inside? but INSEAD and iMD may have companies from elsewhere coming there to recruit graduates regualrly and that may help.

Look at the brochure of schools in this regard. they often list which companies visit regularly.
