The second year of the program is a project phase, where you'll work with an organization in a hands-on capacity. You can do this anywhere in the world, but if you want to end up working in France I would stay in France.

Cost of living depends on many factors. Grenoble is less expensive than Paris, but more costly than living in other European cities like Berlin. Many students share apartments, which can bring down your rent costs.

Learning French should be a priority if you're planning on staying. As for the job market, it depends on your industry. Grenbole has burgeoning high-tech/biotech/nanotech sectors (locally, HP is a top recruiter from the school, for example.) Paris is the place to go for finance or manufacturing.

As far as its international brand value is concerned, it has a reasonable alumni base in North America - but honestly, for a job in the US or Canada, you'd be better served with a degree from one of those countries.
