MBA in Central Europe?

Hi Guys,

I'd like to ask your help and feedback about schools in Vienna and CEE region.

I'm looking for a career change and I'd like to take a MBA program, would be great if I can find something in Vienna example.

I'm 30 years old, I have 6 years experience in film production management. I have BA in film production management and BA in communication. I don't have GMAT score. I do speak english and german, but english language program would be preferred.

I found these two option so far. Budget: tuition max EUR30.000.- with part time job.

I know that CEU in Budapest has a good program, around EUR16.000.-

Could be a good idea to save money and go to CEU?

Or WU Executive Academy has much better program and give a better chance to find work after graduation?

I'd prefer to work in Vienna long term.

WU is in Austria and the CEU is in Hungary. Those are not strongly interlinked labour markets. WU is the only serious choice.

There's a difference between being inexpensive and being good value for money. The CEU MBA is inexpensive partly because it has lower value, and less competition for places, than other schools. Obviously If you're looking for work in Vienna, and the #1 Austrian school is in Vienna, then the WU is the more valuable option.

No, I think that if you have the right motivation then that's not a problem.

Why do you prefer to take your MBA in English? German is the working language there and, if it's not your mother tongue, then you might want to study in German to calm any fears.

That could be a good idea. Thanks. I found at WU mostly english MBAs. I used to live in Vienna years ago. My german could be better...

Last stupid question:

If I can not put together the financial background for WU (~EUR30k) and I have to look for a cheaper program, can you please recommend any other program in the region?
(Tuition around EUR20k.) Can CEU be a kind of "B or C plan" or that is waste of time and money?

The WU does have German-language courses, and not only MBAs but also other masters. The CEU isn't a waste of time or money for everyone, but it's not the most effective route into Austrian business. You would be better off with an MBA or MSc from a university in the German-speaking region of Europe. If your budget is limited, try an MSc at HSG or WU.
