Need YOUR advice on : European University: Barcelona

Hello!

I am an US citizen hoping to study abroad for my MBA program. I have been doing some research on European University. Can anyone share some information about this school with me? It seems very affordable, has small class sizes and is 'accredited'. Are there different types of accreditation? Would this program/ MBA be recognized at all in the US?
Do you recommend MBA anywhere else in Europe?? Barcelona seems affordable and would be wonderful to live and study there. But I'm hoping to get in touch with someone who attended or visited this school.

I know there are more prestigious schools like IESE and EADA, but they are really expensive and I don't think I can get in....

What sector are you planning to break into? Depending on what you study, you'll know if it makes more sense to find work in Europe or back in the States, after the MBA.

It apparently had controversies initially during its early days due to a lack of recognition. It has since achieved accreditation in Europe through CEEMAN and ACBSP, IACBE in the US. It may not be a great university, but it is not terrible either. However, there are an abundance in choices for MBA programs, so shop around and look for something that suits your needs.

Yes, they are expensive, like any other Top-Ranked MBA, but that's an investment in your future, while European University maybe would end up as a "holiday time" in Barcelona but not a real gain in terms of your future career advance.

The investment required is an issue which can be overcome, if your applicaton is strong enough to make you eligible for financing. Have you thought about that?

Thank you for your advice! I agree on all account. I have checked with EU Barcelona and they don't accept any outside funding. I explained my situation to them regarding lack of getting loans from banks, and there is nothing they can really do.
I will just have to apply to the top schools, that are recognized/funded by US Federal aid and banks.

But part of me just wants to go out there to live/experience the culture and maybe take some courses. I wish it was easier to get employed out there....

Not only you can pursue funding from the US, but also from the Business Schools themsevles, no matter if they are located in Europe.

And, from my experience, it is easy to find job in Barcelona. It's a city that opens many doors if you are flexible and creative enough to see them.

If you have a desire to go to Barcelona and experience the life and culture, maybe you should do that. Perhaps you need to visit to figure out if you actually want to study there. Maybe you can make some appointments with schools or alumni to figure out the best option. I also think Barcelona is not so difficult to find a job. My only concern for you is the language barrier. Do you speak Spanish?

Well, it's a lovely city but the MBA job market is really hard there, and everywhere in Spain. It's certainly not easy to find an MBA-type job.
