Schools in Europe | Immediate Guidance Required
Posted Nov 12, 2008 22:17
Hi
I am planning to do my MBA in the year 2009. However even after the deadlines for the first round have passed, I am still baffeled on what schools should I apply to.
I have a 3.5 Years Experience with a GMAT of 650
Currently I am working as a Tech Lead in a Product Based Start Up.
Can anyone here guide me or run me through some information that I will preserve all my lifetime as the one valuable most to me.
;-) kinda emotional yeah... learnt it from a movie...
I wana apply to the following schools but am unsure as to which ones... I do not want to commit a blunder applying to schools out of my jump lead.
SDA Bocconi
Rotterdam
Nyanyang
ESADE
IESE
NYENRODE
IMD
HEC
INSEAD
Could you guys please guide me as to what I should hook and what to skip...
Thanks in advance...

Hi,
I would skip Nyenrode and Esade and consider Warwick, IE, Mannheim and Vlerick instead.
Best,
JL

My comments:
1. Consider 1 year or 2 year program???
2. If Europe for working post-mba then disregard Nanyang
3. Disregard IMD for your profile (is for mid 30s)
4. Very tight for Insead (GMAT 650 is medium/low)
5. IESE (if applying for 2 years) or ESADE, HEC for less time
6. Next tier RSM or Boconni
6. Disregard Nyenrode
Where are you from? Which are your pst-MBA goals?

Dear all,
What surprises me is the confidence with which people pronounce their verdict on the MBA programs to potential students without having any credibility whatsoever. I am not sure if that is the objective of a discussion.
I am a current student at Nyenrode and strongly feel that it is a worthy school, at least the pack that you have put here.
I just want to request all to give feedback based on what they objectively know about the school and not communicate their feelings and verdict on a certain program.
Single Spain, I feel that it's very easy to say disregard Nyenrode. But why don't you let the person make that decision?
Regards,
Saurabh

My recommendations are based on the people I know (from many Schools), public information such as rankings and information which is for instance in many webs such Businessweek, and many others.
Regarging Nyenrode, I am not saying is good or bad, but what I can say is that other schools such the ones I mentioned are better Schools for an MBA. Who knows Nyennrode??

Hi Single Spain,
I do not think that your comment even deserves a response. Anyway, good luck with mis guiding people at a public forum.

Hi there,
As your primary focus, I would pick INSEAD, HEC, IESE, ESADE. What about LBS, Oxford, Cambridge and Manchester? You can add those too.
