Steinbeis School of Innovation and Management Berlin

Hello,

I want to find a job in brand marketing/image consulting and therefore am looking into a graduate program in Germany as this is where I want to work (I speak fluent English and German). For the past five years I have been working in sales in the UK and want to transfer to Germany. Do you have further information or an opinion on the Steinbeis Hochschule in Berlin? They offer an MBA in Marketing or a Masters in Marketing. I would be interested in hearing your advise. Alternatively I have looked into the program at the FU in Berlin (Executive MBM program) the Euro MBA at HHL (I like the international angle).

Are you specifically looking for a part-time programme? If you want to find work, a ranked, accredited full-time programme will be better.

HHL is much, much better than Steinbeis or the EMBM.

I am ideally looking for a program that specialises and focuses in Marketing. Most MBA programs are for me too focused on finance and accounting, which I want to advance but not get too focused on as I did not do a BA in business. I therefore preferred the curriculum of Steinbeis and the FU.

Regarding the HHL: Would also the Euro MBA at HHL be much better if you are familiar with it? May I kindly ask why you think HHL is that much better (apart from ranking and accreditation)? What I am trying to ask is whether the students/professors/content are much worse as well?

It's not the curriculum that matters, since that will be more similar than the language suggests, but the experiential nature of the programme, the quality of the students, alumni and employers that the school gathers around it. Unlike a research masters, a professional degree needs to provide both that experiential element as well as the textbooks.

A full-time programme at the top business school will be better because of those factors, which HHL benefits from.

thanks for the tip. I have looked into this school but I do want to try to avoid the GMAT, as I feel if I invest in this test I would consider US graduate schools (a personal decision I have made).

I have seen that London School of Business and Finance offers an online MSc in Marketing Strategy. I have read other threads in this forum on distance learning courses and will look further into this programme. But I am still unsure whether an online course from a great University as LSBF or a full time degree from (for example) Steinbeis would be better? (to my surprise the LSBF programme is only 8K GPB).

LSBF is not a great university. It's not even a university. Are you mistaking it for London Business School? A degree from Steinbeis will be better.

That's not always the case. Georg-August-Universität Göttingen asks for business graduates, or people with a semester of relevant studies. EBS is very open. The Friedrich-Alexander-Universität will take any social science degree.
