Hello ALL. I have got into UC3M for their MBA course Year 2012-13. Seniors, pls help me take my decision. Background- I have 3 years of Work Ex in IT field. I have jotted down a few Pros and cons here-

The Pros-
1. 1 Year Executive MBA Course compared to general 2 years normal MBA courses
2. AMBA Accredited and undergoing AACSB Accredition
3. All professors highly qualified with PHD's and have published a lot of papers
4. Harvard Case Studies for the course
5. Low Fees (the university being a government, public and non-profitable one)
6. Students from all over the world ; guarantees a global exposure

The Cons here are-
1. Spain Economy is at its rock bottom
2. No job guarantee
3. Few job prospects ; may have to struggle a lot on the job front

My primary worry is that I am unsure of the recognition of this University in India(incase I need to come back). Pls guide and help me take a final decision. What would be the job prospects ideally if I have to return back to India?Thanks.

I think you will need an Indian forum to get specific feedback on India. Generally speaking I don't see how a small unranked Spanish school can have a brand premium in India. It would be equated to any university MBA perhaps? But since you only mention one option, why worry? Either get an alternative or accept that you don't have an effective choice.

I was also admitted to the UC3M MBA and I am looking for UC3M alumni to provide some feedback about the course.

superstarpranav, if you hear about other people admitted to the course, please put them in touch in this forum. One of my concerns is about the quorum of the class in 2012 considering Spanish crisis.

Duncan, do you think it is an unranked Spanish MBA? It looks a good option for the AMBA accreditation..

The issue isn't that *I think* it is unranked; the reality is that it is is unranked. Of course UC3M has a strong reputation in Spain for economics and finance (among Spain's state universities, it is second only to UPF in this regard). However, its MBA has not appeared in any ranking of MBAs that I am aware of.

I think that CEU and Cnam are better options for accredited, inexpensive MBAs - not because their programmes are better (Cnam's certainly is not) but because there's really little hope of finding work in Spain. There's also the UNF MBA in Cologne (http://www.f03.fh-koeln.de/fakultaet/itmk/studium/studiengaenge/master/internationales_management-interkulturelle_kommunikation/00595/index.html) which has US accreditation and is very inexpensive.

Hello Duncan, thank you for your explanation.

I don't have the intention of working in Spain, actually I intend to return to my country (Brazil) after the MBA. In this case, would UC3M be a better option because of its accreditation?

Well, all the programmes I mentioned have accreditation.

If you want to work in Latin America, then UC3M looks better. I think you'll find it better than any of the schools in South America, and on a par with Tec de Monterrey-Egade.

PS IPADE would be better.
