Hi there! I'm a current participant in the Luxury Brand Management major in ESSEC's Global MBA program, and the major's ambassador. In addition to what Duncan has shared, I wanted to share a little more about how this program helps participants transition their careers.
In this year's batch, almost everyone will be changing at least one or at most all of their industries, functions, and markets (locations). I will agree that working here in France pretty much requires having a good handle on the French language and it would be good if you can start on your French even before joining the program; however, I would not say that you need Marketing experience in the least. The Luxury Brand Management major will not only equip you with hard skills, such as quite a bit of knowledge and skills on Marketing but also offers plentiful opportunities to network with those in your target sector (e.g. Fashion & Accessories, Watches & Jewelry, Fragrances & Cosmetics, Wine & Spirits). The program was founded in partnership with LVMH and L'Oréal, the two largest luxury conglomerates in the world, and the school continues to have very strong relationships with these companies. These founding partners, along with many others, make the networking opportunities immense, and being able to expand your network in the Luxury industry as such is indispensable.
