I was wondering about how much you can rely on accreditations by smaller accreditation bodies. Ok, we all know that AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA are the big ones, which can only be obtained if schools fulfill many requirements. Many smaller schools cannot get an accreditation by these bodies, simply because they do not have the (financial) means to meet all requirements. I read that the annual financial expenses for the AACSB international accreditation are in the $ ­2-3 million range (http://www.business.subr.edu/aacsb.pdf). Accreditation by FIBAA seems to be quite accepted in German language countries, at least it guarantees you that your MBA is not from a degree mill.

Many programs in Switzerland (and elsewhere) are accredited by organizations such as IACBE and Eduqua. You also find other accreditation bodies like CHEA, MSA, NEASCSC, NCA, NWCCU, SACS, WASC, ACBSP, IACBE. I found some basic information about the smaller accreditation bodies at wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_of_Business_Administration). I also found some board posts about this issue, such as this one.:
