Hi there,
I am from Sri Lanka, I am planning to start my MBA in few months time. But I have some cofusions in finding the correct school as we have many private colleges here almost everyone of them are offering internal degrees tying up with many popular international universities around the world.
The reason why I couldn't enroll myself in government universities are, the first thing I don't have enough formal education in my academic career; needless to say, not even a certificate level course, this all because of my responsibility towards my family that I had to give up my further education immediately after my high schools. Government colleges are very strict in enrolling candidates, in this case they prioritize candidates that possess a bachelor's degrees or at least a diploma apart from professional qualifications like ACCA, CIM & CIMA etc. I have none of above but I have 12 years of experience in professional career, I started my career as Sales Representative and grew up until Asst. Sales Manager levels. My past 2 years experience was in middle eastern market that too as senior sales executive. Now I have come back to Sri Lanka and resuming my career in order to peruse an MBA which is a long time dream of mine. I just found some job offers with executive designations which are tailor made for my field career but I had to refuse them because If I took over those jobs I will have to work in East part of the country so I will have to travel 350 - 400km every weekend to attend my MBA classes. Finally, I managed to find a job in capital Colombo which is where almost every business schools are located. Despite my new job designation is customer service officer which is nowhere related to my 12 year career I am obliged to agree with the offer because I don't have a second option rather than accepting this. I hope I might get some free time to concentrate on my MBA as it will be an indoor job.
Now in particular I am confused in finding the correct school. As I said above almost every local private schools are working with foreign bodies that awarding internal degrees directly from their respected faculties which is indeed comparably cheaper than pursuing a degree in abroad. Is it really possible for me to enroll myself in a UK college with this minimum qualification I possess? Most importantly can anyone help me to choose some of the business schools mentioned below? which are very popular here in awarding internal degrees both Bachelor's & Masters.
