Economist 2015 Ranking EDHEC

Hello fellows

This is my first post here, awesome forum and awesome community really! cheers
In 2015 economist ranking, EDHEC global MBA is at number 34. This school has gained some serious ranking in last few years. BUT has it really improved this much to overtake Mannheim, Cambridge and SDA Bocconi? I am surprised really.
With such attractive scholarship package and now with this ranking, it is quite hard to resist to include it in first choice schools.

I am from Pakistan, I am aiming for a well ranked and reputed one year MBA, i plan to do job in the same country for 2-3 years (language barrier is not much of an issue) to earn back the investment and then come back to Pakistan/gulf.

Help me fellows, EDHEC is pulling me

I think this has to be put in context: the Economist ranking is focussed a bit more on salary growth than absolute salary. Since Cambridge students perhaps arrive with higher salaries, perhaps they have lower percentage growth even if they have higher salaries. And since EDHEC students are probably older than Mannheim students, perhaps they get better outcomes than Mannheim alumni? In the real world, no-one would attend EDHEC if they could attend Cambridge. But it's certainly possible that EDHEC has better outcomes than SDA Bocconi, especially since EDHEC is able to place most non-European students in European roles. And it cannot be doubted that EDHEC is improving year after year, especially with option to take career track on the London and Singapore campuses of the school.

Duncan can you please explain this part. I never knew EDHEC was good at placing non-EU people in Europe.

secondly, how would you compare EDHEC with WHU in terms of placing non-EU people in Europe. I have secured admission in WHU but I have few doubts about job placement

Take a look at:- I visited EDHEC www.find-mba.com/board/34886 Since that post I returned to the EDHEC campus in Nice (last October) and met several current students and recent alumni. The program seems to be progressing well. However, it and WHU place students into rather different industry sectors.
