EMBA IMD vs. Whu kellog vs St. Gallen

Dear all,

Would love to hear your opinion on an EMBA choice i need to make. Im a seasoned professional from Eastern Europe working in Germany and need to choose between St Gallen or IMD while I hope to see positive admission for the WHU Kellog Emba as well.

IMD has the best ranking but is not at all focused on my industry (software) and most expensive. St Gallen also has a great brand here in Germany (maybe even better then IMD.. Don't know) but does not rank well nor does it have the international reputation. Whu/Kellog.. To be honest I don't know. I saw it ranks well but don't know how recruiters see this, especially in the tech world. However, this program is thw cheapest.

My goal is to stay in Germany and grow with my company. Later on ideally land a job at bigger tech company, ideally Amazon in UK or something similar. Therefore Germany reputation is key but ideally the program should be known abroad.

I consider IMD a grade A school but as I said the focus does not fit, so I practically cannot benefit from the alumini. Should i neglect this and spend more for IMD? Or go to St. Gallen or WHU which are in my view B schools, but much cheaper with generally good reputation in Germany.

Thanks for sharing any thoughts that can make this choice easier.

These are really different programmes with quite different students. Take a deeper look.

Well then please help and tell me where's the difference. I did look at them and in fact the three are fairly similar in my view.

IM EBMA: avg age 40 with 35% of participants from DACH region
St Gallen IEMBA: avg age 39 with 55% of participants from DACH region
WHU/Kellog avg age 38 with 50% of participants from DACH region
All three program have an international scope with abroad assignments.
Content wise St Gallen and IMD look for a litte bit more senior people and have a stronger focus on leadership/personal development.
The difference in my view are the ones I described in my initial mail, mainly reputation/perception and industry background of participants. So please help if you can provide more info

Well yes, 1y vs 2 y. And the curriculum is more or less focused on leadership and general management. However those are IMO nuances. They all cook with water and are similar. So again in comes down to reputation/employability.
