Go with the GMAT. The rumor is that the GRE is easier, but I think the GRE is still kind of an unknown for most business schools - even those that accept the scores. I think most unofficially still prefer the GMAT. Good luck.

The use of the GRE in MBA admissions is relatively recent, and only a fraction of the programs accept it, while the majority of programs take GMAT. Maybe in a few years this will change, with the GRE being accepted in more programs, but for now it's only a niche.

But if you are set on a school that only takes the GRE, then that's a different story. Look at the individual programs you want to apply to. A few programs that take the GRE include (they might also take the GMAT instead, so check that out):

The California State University (CSU) system: Bakersfield, Chico, etc.
Stanford
Wesleyan
Purdue's part-time program
Boston College
Yale

Yeah, I'll just take the GMAT.

I kind of doubt any good schools would take GRE only.

I'm considering taking the GRE instead of the GMAT, and I found this thread but it looks like it's a few years old...

Has there been any change in business schools embracing the GRE? I see that a lot of the top business schools are now taking the GRE - ones that I'm considering are Stanford, MIT - Sloan, Harvard, and New York University - Stern.

Has anybody on this board heard of a candidate who was accepted after taking the GRE?

Accepting the GRE is a way of schools getting access to two pools of candidates: those looking at other graduate degrees; and those who are worried about the quant element in the GMAT. Applicants need to be be careful about what they are signalling.
