I think that the reason why many people recommend accredited MBA programs is that it's really hard to go wrong. But when you get into regions where there aren't a lot of schools accredited by AACSB, AMBA, or EQUIS, this can be a problem.

AUC would be the gold standard for MBA programs in Egypt, that's for sure. But with these other schools, I don't think that a lack of accreditation should be the sole determinant in terms of whether you do the program or not.

Just be critical about the program: ask the school questions about the curriculum and especially what happens to graduates after graduation. Is there a lot of career support, and can they verify this by connecting you with graduates who have made good career progress? These are the types of questions that I would ask.

Thanks Laurie, actually this is gonna be the first MBA customized to the healthcare sector in Egypt even in the AUC they only have the general MBA and they have hospital management diploma but not Healthcare MBA, so there are no graduates i can consult. About the curriculum, it is very good and i am saying that because i got already Level 7 IBQH (international board for quality in healthcare) and i have checked the curriculum of the hospital management diploma in the AUC and the healthcare MBA curriculum compared to them is solid and covering almost all the topics that matter in the healthcare organizations. Regarding careers, well...this is hard to judge especially in Egypt as you may know the market and the economy in Egypt are not stable and it is very hard to predict if you are going to find your target job or not and that's why i am concerned about the accreditation to be capable of compete whenever i got the chance to work outside Egypt.

Typically those who are already in the healthcare sector, or those who want to transition into it, a specialized MBA is not necessary. Do the best general MBA you can, regardless of whether it offers a specialized track.
