MBA in oil and gas 2013\2014

Hi

Can anybody help me with dates of completion for MBA in oil and gas management for Aberdeen/RGU and Dundee?
They both start in autumn 2013. Do they finish in May-June 2014 or December 2014? I got conflicting messages on that.

I have a first class degree from Oxford, worked in the energy industry for 8 years including 5 years at TNK-BP and 3 years in consultancies, now I want to return back to the upstream team of an oil major via the MBA program but I can't afford (time wise) to do that until December 2014. How much time do I physically have to spend after May 2014 for each of the program?

Also would be interesting to learn which of the program provides better employment chances for the task I outlined.

Would appreciate your comments.

Warwich is minimum 2.5 years as I understand it.

Vienna is quite pricey and it is just an executive MBA where almost anyone is admitted for money?

I wonder what best MBAs in oil and gas there are besides Aberdeen and Dundee that are 12-15 months or under. I see no other.

The best thing under 12 months I found are courses in Houston:

Why are you limiting yourself to MBA degrees in energy. Energy firms recruit mainly from general MBAs. Studying in Texas or Calgary does make sense but that's because of the connections as much as the course content.

I feel like I need more financial training on oil and gas issues for future employment in an oil major. In addition, I just simply have not found any decent one year MBAs that energy companies are really after.

Are you specifically looking at the UK? LBS has a bigger alumni of UK oil and gas alumni than any other school. RGU has a good network but schools like Imperial, Cranfield, Warwick, Henley, Strathclyde, Insead and MBS have strong networks too.

Why not take an MSc in energy finance if that's your focus? Take a part-time MBA to compliment it maybe?

Then look closely at the Energy Finance MBA at Austin - McCombs. It's one of the only specialized MBAs that covers this specific topic.

I don't know if it make sense for you but I remembered that UCL has some energy programs (certificate, diploma and MSc) in Australia.

It is not an MBA and I'm not sure if it can accommodate with your already good experience but have a look! I'm not sure if they also have a similar program in UK:

Those certificate programs are interesting, good idea.

Likewise, ESSEC offers a general management program in energy and commodities, it's much shorter than an MBA and costs about 12000 EUR. Could be an idea, depending on OP's goals.
