Hi. I am looking into several EMBA and MBA programs and need some advice.
I am not sure whether I should be considering an EMBA or MBA program? (even after a lot of research).
I am in my late thirties and have an undergraduate degree and a master's degree (both in the social sciences). I have never taken any formal business classes, but I have managed and run 4 businesses during the last 14 years. I am interested in the EMBA programs because I would like to meet others who have similar backgrounds and ideas. My main concern is that many of the people in EMBA programs seem to be sponsored by large companies or corporations. I do not fit into this category, as I come from an entrepreneurial background.
Due to this, would I be out of place in this group and better suited to the MBA? However, my concern with this, is that I feel like I might be a bit old for a traditional MBA and may not share the same interests as those in the traditional MBA program.
Since I own my own business, the time commitment is not a major concern for me (meaning I could attend either type of program).
If anyone has any thoughts or ideas I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.
Danielle
