MBA schools -- Confusion.. Need you advice

Hi Duncan,

I have yet to give my GMAT (planned for next month). Below is my profile: -

Academics overall has been good.
Experience : 7 years currently in Indian IT Industry (Would be 8 years with few more months of Internation Exp till the time I actually apply for 2013). Client is British Telecom. More than 2 years international experience in UK. Worked as Onshore cooridnator, Delivery Manager, Release Manager, Managed Service Lead. I have been leading a team of 15 so have sufficient leadership experience.

I have been averaging 660 in my mock tests and really hope to improve that in my actual GMAT test. Request you to kindly suggest some good MBA school which would suit my profile.

Also I was wondering whether UK is a good destination for MBA or not since they have stopped Post Study Work Visa and the only way to work would be hoping to get a placement before graduation completes.

Also how good would be 1 year program in US schools as compared with the 2 years ones. Would the ones with 1 year programs give a good ROI after graduation.

I will definitely come back to you with my actual scores next month however still need your advice as I am really confused on where to go for MBA.

No, the two year programmes are much better. RoI is good, but NPV is higher on the two year programmes. Use the 'Value' column on the FT rankings.

What about Mannheim School in Germany....thought its not there in FT list but I have heard of it...What are your suggestions please....since my experience is in 8 years range...I am preferring to do a 1 year course from a good college probably from europe....What are the job oppurtunities in Germany nowadays and other countries in Europe like Spain, Italy, UK etc ??

Job opportunities are pretty good in Germany, but you'd really need to speak German unless you were in investment banking. Uk, ES, IT are all in recession. Very hard for non-EU MBAs there.
