As objective as I can normally be, I am sorry to say the following but I personally despise those who does a 2nd MBA. It clearly shows how much effort one put into when researching for doing an MBA in the very first place.

An MBA itself is already a reset button for those who want to change industry. Doing a 2nd MBA is like asking to give a 2nd chance after realising that the industry is not he/ she wants to continue.

To digress a bit, there are million of reasons for people to do a first or 2nd MBA from A or B or C business school but I strongly believe every one who ever contemplate to do an MBA would dream to do one from the best business school possible. Based on my personal experience, I was accepted into a not so prestigious or internationally renowned business school last year. However, I did not feel comfortable with joining the school so I rejected their offer 3 months before the term started. Fortunately, I just got accepted into a world-class business school for this year entry and I did not even have a shred of regret for not doing my MBA earlier with the lousier business school. Conversely, I would have deep regret if I was to join that particular business school even if it means that I have to do it a year later but then again, I didn't mind waiting.

Anyway, this is not a kid's game! This is about planning your career at least 10 years down the road. A 2nd MBA prompts recruiter to question your commitment to your future career as well as your ability to actually lead people when you can't even lead your own career! Refreshing knowledge is definitely not a reason to do another MBA!

If you really want to specialise in an area, the MSc Strategic Marketing from Cranfield will probably suits a seasoned and older professional like you.

Thanks for the quick reply, I really appreciate your help. You might be right up to a point, but attending a worldwide recognized MBA program to find job opportunities abroad is also understandable in my case I guess as the previous one was not able to do this.

I think that getting international experience and transitioning into another industry are valid reasons for getting an MBA.

But yes, be prepared for the question 'why do you need a second MBA?'
