One Year MBA Ranking

Hi There,
There are a lot of students who are interested in the one year programs and it seems that there is no comprehensive ranking for these programs. I need the inputs from the forum members and the ranking would be updated accordingly. The ranking can be divided into three categories:
-Best In Class: Highly Competitive to get admissions. Usually the crème de la crème of MBA programs.
-Middle Class MBA: Less competition lesser GMAT requirements. Great Budget MBA programs. Best of both worlds quality and cost.
-Backbenchers: The easiest group of programs in this ranking system to get admissions. Least competitive and almost no GMAT requirements.
The reason why this list is divided on the basis on GMAT is because most of the quality MBA programs give a lot of importance to GMAT scores.

How about you filter for the 1-yr MBA programmes on the FT 2015 ranking list?

There would be a lot of apples-to-oranges comparisons here. It's tricky because 1-year MBA programs are common in some reasons (the UK, Europe), while less common in the US. So comparing the schools in the FT ranking solely based on their one-year program options virtually eliminates most US schools, while keeping some of the lower-tier UK schools.
For instance, Florida-Hough has one of the best 1-year MBAs in the US but the school isn't even in the FT ranking, and simply in terms of 1-year options, I believe it should rank higher than lower-tier UK schools like Bath. Plus, although other US schools like Kellogg and Cornell do offer 1-year versions of their MBA programs, these are aimed at students with different goals than their 2-year MBAs.
So I would imagine that regional rankings would be a much more effective way of comparing these programs. Maybe a basic solution would be to filter the Businessweek ranking for the US schools, and then filter the FT rankings for other regions.

In my opinion, these business schools offer the top 10 best one year MBA programs based in the US:
1. USC - Marshall
2. Cornell - Johnson
3. Kellogg
4. Notre Dame - Mendoza
5. Emory - Goizueta
6. Boston University
7. Babson - Olin
8. Florida - Warrington
9. Pepperdine - Graziado
10. Hult

Pretty close. But I would put Kellogg and Mendoza about USC and Cornell.

The USC IBEAR program is aimed at high-level international students really. The Cornell school has two one-year programmes now; the one year MBA in NYC will, I think, make a real impact very quickly.

Any comments on if the Cornell Tech MBA is worth it now? I was thinking about applying for 2016 but am hesitant to do so since it's still pretty new.

I think it depends on your goals. If you want to get into Tech, then clearly it's going to be the best one-year MBA in the US. Only the Sloan Fellows and MSx programs could be as powerful.
