Profile Evaluation for MBA in Canada

Profile Evaluation:

GMAT: 620 ( Q40, V35, IR 3)
Matric: 66%
Pre-Engineering: 77%
Mechanical Engineering: CGPA 3.62/4
Experience: 5 years in a well reputed company and held important roles-Currently employed in the same company.
Extra-curricular activities: Captain of the university cricket and squash team. Active volunteer at SOS Children's Villages.

Can you guys kindly evaluate my profile and suggest whether I should apply to the top 10 business schools in Canada or not for an MBA? I don't have time to retake the GMAT as I'm looking to get admitted in the mid 2019 intake.

By mid-2019 are you talking about fall? If so, you still a bit of time - round 2 at Schulich for example closes on February 1.

First thing is your work experience sounds rather vague - it's hard to say what your chances would be without knowing more about the firm, your role, and your career arc up to this point.

Generically speaking, I'd say that without a better GMAT score, you'll be a hard sell at most of the top schools (for Schulich, Sauder, McGill, Queen's, etc. the average GMAT tends to be in the 650-660 range.) Given your profile, you'd be looking for a higher than average GMAT (700 would help).

Further down the chain, something like Ryerson might be an option but considering these schools are very popular among international students with similar backgrounds, you're still going to want a higher GMAT score to make it a safe bet.
