Starting guidance for GMAT

Hi all -

I am looking for some starting advice on GMAT and MBA.

A bit of background about myself - Bachelors's degree, 7 years of investment banking experience focussing on M&A with one of the biggest US banks. I moved to a corporate in Jan 2020 as part of the Strategy and M&A team. Sadly, the corporate is travel-related and had to do major redundancies and I was one of the casualties.

Given the competitive nature of the market and the limited opportunities, I was keen to up-skill myself and wanted to take on MBA. Will target to move to buy-side (PE or VCs) or corporate M&A post an MBA.

I will be focussed on B-Schools in London, and wanted to get some tips on starts points and things to focus on GMAT.

Any help is highly appreciated.

LBS is certainly your best choice, but don't rule out Oxford or Cambridge. These are commuter cities for London, so easy for hiring as well great schools.

In terms of the GMAT, take a practice test to give yourself a ballpark idea of what your score would be, as well as your strengths and weaknesses.

For the schools Duncan suggested you should be looking for a minimum score of around 700, give or take. The higher the better, and especially depending on the quality of your work experience and your undergraduate grades.
