Few pointers

1) You may not be eligible for 1 year MBA in US (except for Hult) since - I assume - that you don't have an undergrad in business form AACSB recognized school.

2) your IT background is not necessarily holding you back, but your lack of exemplary experience may. I know Indian students who have graduated from Tuck and Ross having pure IT background.
If you haven't done different things to add to your life experience make sure you highlight stuff that you have done differently in your essays.

3) If you have a run of the mill profile (it's how you portray yourself) - and write a run of the mill essays, then it will become a rat race for you. Trust me there is no shortage of applications having 700+ scores, tech experience who want to get into Consulting, Product Management etc.

4) You have your target industry and companies locked down - which is good. Spend some time on what function you want to focus on? General Management, Finance, Operations?
Getting into GM/Daimler etc. might be freaking tough given that you are not a US citizen.
Search their websites see where they recruit for what positions (look into their campus recruiting calendar)

5) Use LinkedIn to find profiles who have already walked the path before you. Connect with them to ask what worked and what didn't

Tier-2 target schools on the top of my mind. Michigan State, it's closer to Detroit. (make sure you know what you are getting yourself into - Search Detroit on Google)

>> I had freelanced for about 6 months during my fresher days and delivered a product to a small transportation agency. I Have the mail transcripts as proof although not the cheques from them.
>>Worked as a lecturer/assistance professor for an engineering college for 9 months. teaching java.
>>Worked for 10 months in a startup with an ISB alumni very closely. As we have 7 members in the company than.
>>First to graduate (rather crossed 10th class) in the family line.3rd topper in my school (98 students)and 2nd topper in the +2 (~120 students). And got the 1st in debate + won college level Marathon in the same year.

I have only the above facts as part of Extra curricular activity. The thing is all that I have done prior to joining IT except the Scrum Master part. which are way long than 8 years back. So was wondering if I can put all of them still now or would be treated it too old if I put them in essay? After joined IT no extra curricular activity. May be it'll hurt my chances.. don't know.
