I am finishing my 2 year masters degree in psychology where I have worked for the university as a graduate teaching assistant both years. I want to apply for an mba. Does this count as working experience?

This is something you want to ask the schools directly. In general, business schools will only be looking for full-time work experience, and usually assistantships are only part-time.
