570 GMAT, please help....

Hi,

I am an Indian female with 66 months of IT experience in two MNCs, have social entrepreneurship experience of 12 months on top of 66 months of experience. I used to score between 650-700 in all practise tests but on the day of my GMAT I was not well and didn't score well and got only 570. I don't want to take the test again as there is no time for round 2 and I don't want to delay further.

Given my scenario, please advise achieve able and ambitious B Schools that I can apply to. My target is US B Schools only. Please advise and help.

American - Kogod, maybe? Average GMAT there is in your range but the work experience level tends to be higher. Round 2 deadline is early February.

Or Seattle - Albers or CSU Long Beach, something in that range. Check their websites for application deadlines.

There's still time to retake the GMAT by some round 2 deadlines. Some schools, like Kogod as hipster referenced above, as well as Fordham, Pepperdine, and others, all have round 2 deadlines at the beginning of February. If you were truly scoring higher in your practice tests, maybe you just had a minor setback with your first test and could try again within the next couple of weeks.

However, a much better strategy would be to really focus on the GMAT and retake when you are ready, even if it means applying in R3. A 100 point boost would give you a ton of better options. Generally speaking, adcomms would prefer seeing a higher GMAT score in a later round versus seeing a poor one in an earlier round.
