Do I need to do a GMAT prep course?

Hi - I'm looking to study for the GMAT for a September 2020 programme, possibly at Cass in London. I only have a GCSE in maths and it was a long time ago (15 years). So pretty poor math knowledge. However, have 6 years' legal experience so imagine should be able to do well with other aspects of the test.

Should I join a GMAT prep course? They are expensive in London. Or would using some books be enough? Which would be best?

khan academy offers free prep course at https://www.khanacademy.org/test-prep/gmat
it is completely free, you probably can do it without even registering
