MBA for 700 GMAT

Hello!

I am a female Indian project manager who is in pursuit of an MBA program in the UK, US, Australia, or Canada.

My GMAT score is 700 (Q48, V38)

I have 3.5 years of work experience, starting with an analyst position and I am currently project manager. My undergraduate is mechanical engineering from a non-IIT school - first division.

My plans are to work abroad after MBA. I plan to explore possibilities in the consulting industry or oil and gas sector.

Please advise me.

For the UK, something like Warwick, maybe? Or if you already have oil / gas experience, Aberdeen?

I think for the typical MBB-type consulting schools - Columbia, LBS, Insead, etc., your GMAT might be a bit low, and the gap between your verbal and quant scores could be a red flag.

A stronger GMAT score would help with mitigating your lower-than-avearge work experience as well.

Thank you for the advice. I have been looking at the GMAT tiers information. Does this mean that since I am from India I must go down to tier 2? I would be interested in applying to University of Texas at Austin: McCombs.

Yes. You stand almost no chance at UTA.

UTA is a highly competitive bschool because if its relatively low fees. The ratio of applicants to seats is unfavourable.

Hello Uday, can I ask if you were able to get into UTA? I got a 720 on the GMAT but I am also from India so I am considering my options.

What are the other details of your profile? (work experience, undergrad, references, etc.)

Your GMAT score is strong for the school (average there is currently 702) but of course the GMAT score is not the only factor.
