Whether to prepare for GMAT or go for college which doesn't require GMAT for MBA

Hi guys! I am in a big dilemma at the moment.
I am planning to do MBA from the USA but I don't have GMAT. My consultancy has given me two options:
1) If you want to go without GMAT then Arkansas state university and university of Findlay could be my possible destination.
2) Or, just wait for 5 - 6 months and prepare for GMAT and try your luck in some other good universities.
He also said that Arkansas state university is a good and reputed university but personally, I don't know about the university. I am already MSc Biotechnology, I have average English but quite good in Mathematics. Although, looking at sample questions and practising few I think my score will be somewhere between 500-600. So, I am not sure what sort of universities can I get in that range. In addition, I think that even if with GMAT I couldn't get much better University than Arkansas state university then there wouldn't be no point of delaying for GMAT. However, I am not in the sort of guy to blast the GMAT score and break in Harvard.
I would highly appreciate your suggestion and comments.

I am.not sure what your goals are but if they are academic or professional then take the GMAT.

It's usually always better to go with an MBA program that requires the GMAT. However, with a 500-600 GMAT score your options would be very limited, but if you were able to score at the higher end of that range you might be competitive at schools like Utah - Eccles or American - Kogod, either of which would probably be a better choice than Arkansas State.

But with some solid studying effort (assuming you could get into the 650 GMAT score range), you could target some 'better' schools, like Rutgers, Boston University, Emory, etc.

Your competitiveness also depends on a lot of other factors - how much work experience you have etc., which you haven't detailed. A 500 GMAT score might make you competitive at better schools if you had some really solid work experience and were an Olympic medalist, for instance.
