Will top schools continue to waive the GMAT requirement in the future?

Hello. Hope you all are doing well.

Given the current pandemic situation, several schools have introduced waiver policies for the GMAT. Assuming things go back to the way they were (pre-COVID life), or we find a new normal where taking the GMAT wouldn't be too far fetched an idea for most folks, do you guys think they'll call back the waivers, and make test scores 'more' mandatory, if not completely? Curios to hear what others have to say on this.

The top schools are only waiving the requirement where it's impossible to meet it. If you are able to take an online or in-person GMAT, then they will require it or a similar test like the GRE or TAGE MAGE. In some places, candidates cannot find a test and that is the current challenge. I can't see that continuing, especially as we see the growth of pre-MBA qualifications with verified assessment or proctored exams, like the Harvard CoRE.

I don't think many of the top ranked schools are actually waiving the GMAT requirement (at least not moreso than normal...)

There is the online version of the test that most people should be able to access.

If you are in a country where the online test is unavailable, and you are in all other ways absolutely outstanding, then some schools will waive it (for example Stanford).
