Hello,
What I Am: I am 37 years old and have been serving in Pakistan Army as a commissioned officer for fifteen years now (current rank 'Major'). Our army requires us to be a jack of all trades which means that while I do not have a particular area of 'expertise' - have not served for more than two years in one particular 'sector'/ role - I have served in various leadership and management positions in the army to develop project management, human resource management, supply chain management and problem solving/ analytical skills. Very recently, I took voluntary early retirement from service as I felt I was stagnating. I will be retiring next month.
Education: Bachelors in Electrical Engineering (CGPA 2.8 - can explain it in my application; basically I was studying full-time and working full-time)
Other interests: AI/ Machine learning. I do have a good understanding of AI/ machine learning concepts. I also have intermediate programming skills in Python. (Please remember that this is more of a hobby and not something I want to pursue a career in).
What I want to be: I want to aim for the 'triple-jump': pursue an MBA in UK so that I can transition into a management consultant role (in UK).
I am planning to take GMAT in a month or so and will try to get at least a 680.
With above in mind, do you guys think a 'full time' MBA from UK is worth pursuing for someone like me?
Am I correct in assuming that following should be the schools that I should apply to?
Warwick, Cranfield, Durham, St. Andrews, AMBS.
PS. I have not mentioned LBS, ICL, Oxford and Cambridge because I think getting into those schools would be difficult for me as I do not have a business background.
