Cranfield VS Warwick

I have gotten admits from both Warwick and Cranfield for their MSc. Management programs. I wish to get into management Consulting after my MSc.

I am leaning towards Cranfield as they offer a 3 month internship + the program content looks better there. However, I have heard that Cranfield mostly places students in the automotive, aerospace and logistics sectors and is weak when it comes to consulting placements.

On the other hand, Warwick is a bigger brand and is internationally well known, but I have heard negative reviews about their program content quality and about the faculty, plus I have heard that Warwick lacks diversity and has a majority of Indian students and most of whom wish to return to their family businesses after graduating. Moreover, from what I have read, the career service at Warwick is weaker as compared to Cranfield.

Please guide me!

Cranfield’s MSc. Management program does have an interview component in the application process, if that’s what you are asking

Cranfield is absolutely a gold brand in the UK. It and LBS are the only schools in the Superbrands book. Of course it it not so well known internationally because it is a graduate only university. Personally, I would rather go there than Warwick.

PS consulting is a big field. Look at the firms that interest you using LinkedIn and see which school has the biggest percentage of its MSc alumni in those firms.

PS consulting is a big field. Look at the firms that interest you using LinkedIn and see which school has the biggest percentage of its MSc alumni in those firms.

As advised, I did some research on the consulting recruitment trends in the UK and found that, even though not many major consulting firms come to Cranfield for recruitment, many Cranfield students have found jobs in second tier consulting firms. Further, Cranfield also has the best recruitment stats by far in the UK.

However, I was wondering, given that Cranfield is such a strong school why does it still have such low admission requirements (2:2 degree and a 6.5 on IELTS)?

Cranfield's minimum requirements are not sufficient, so I would expect that most candidates with those minima would not be admitted. However, it does give the school some flexibility. In particular, degree classifications differ greatly and an applicant with 59% (a 2:2) from, say, a Russell Group university could have a better academic preparation than someone with 61% (a first at some Indian universities).

Well, I’m sure you will do just fine on the interview. It’s a fairly straightforward interview, where they just want to understand you as a person and what you expect from the school. They will mostly take the interview opportunitie to explain the features of the MSc and the career services to you.

I have not accepted my offer yet, but I think I will end up going to Cranfield in the end!
