EMBA - 12 yrs IT - Financial Services

Dear All,

I have 12 Yrs IT experience out of which last 7 yrs have been in Tier 1 Investment Bank Front Office ? Trading Applications based in London. I?m looking to return to my home country, India, in next 3-4 years. I?m looking at an EMBA program that would lead into a career in one of three - General Management in an Investment Bank, General Management with an IT vendor, Consulting in Finance.

Cass seems to a program that suits me due to its proximity to my work place, finance ? self funded and its perceived reputation in Financial World here. Ideally I would like LBS but that depends on how my GMAT goes and if they would accept me.

Would you suggest a program like Cass for my background and future goals?

Emba programmes have lower GMAT requirements than the full time ones. EMBA applicants at LBS also have to look at their fit to the programme goals listed in the brochure. Cass and Chicago are also strong. Also look at HEC, Insead, IMD and the OneMBA.

I can only really look at Weekday (after hours)/Weekend programs in London due to time constraints at work. It would be difficult to get a week off though I could stretch for long weekends like the LBS program.

I'm aiming for LBS but would like to have a second/third choice just in case. Would you recommend Cass & Imperial?

I would certainly recommend Cass. Also look at Ashridge. They are changing their EMBA with the next intake; it will alternate between London and Berkhamstead.

All the best with LBS, Considering your profile i hope you may get through with 680+ but if you are looking forward to returning back to India then i would strongly suggest you to consider options with Indian B-School such as ISB and IIM (executive) program as they hold very high reputation both in India and internationally.
