As of now, you are eligible to get work permit after completing your degree. but nothing is certain yet, every thing will depend once they come out with some final decision on PSW.

ya i hav actually 4m nottingham but it was 4 jan n i recieved it only a coupl of days bck so it was 2 late by den 2 apply 4 visa n 4 completin othr formalities hav requested dem 2 defer d offer 2 sept ....lets c............m xpectin a response 4m a coupl of othr unis by mid jan......fingers crossed...............i had a look at d link u had posted on one of the othr discussions n it seems dat d situation will become clear only after 31st Jan. im just hopin dat d tier1 wrk permit is nt scrappd all 2gethr.

The scrapping of the PSW is true - and will become valid from April 2011. They're trying to bring a cap to immigration etc etc - which is quite a pain really. I'm in the UK right now, and will be applying for my PSW by next month! Quite anxious about it!

And regarding Nottingham University Business School, it is supposed to be quite good, and it is not the same as Nottingham Trent University.

thats great....apart from that, you might want to consider leeds, durham and bradford just coz they make the cut above Nottingham in the latest FT rankings. But notts isn't bad in any case....... best of luck!

i got rejected from leeds waiting for aston, durham, bradford.
For leeds reason was less work exp

Aston is quite adamant on 3 years as well. They are triple accredited. Do let us know how it goes with Durham and Bradford.....

I am bit confused while chosing right B-school for aspiring for a MBA program in UK. Just to brief about my profile that I am an enginering graduate in Computer Sc and have 14+ yrs exp in IT, currently working for an IT organization in India.

Got few suggestions for :
1. University of Nottingham
2. Henley Business school, (merged into Univerisity of Reading since 2008)
3. University of Durham
4. University of Glasgow
5. University of Bradford

Your targets should depend totally on your profile. The following criteria will help people advise you better:

Is your 14+ years completely on the technical side or have there been any managerial responsibilities?

What about your GMAT scores and IETLS scores?

Percentage of marks in your degree?

with a good GMAT score (650+), IELTS (more than 7) and around 60% marks in your degree, along with decent managerial exposure, you can easily try for Oxford, Cambridge, Cass, Warwick and LSB.

Anything less in your profile, go for Henley (primarily coz of your 14+ exp.) Strathclyde, Durham, Aston, Leeds etc.
