Let's discuss the FT2013 MBA ranking!

an interesting thing.
The Financial times says:Student numbers on the 18 MBA programmes ranked by the FT in the world?s top 100 ? there are about 150 UK MBA programmes in total .
There only have 17 MBAs ranked by FT ranking in the UK last years,does it mean that a new school squashed in this ranking this year? or maybe in and out?

Very interesting to see who is at the bottom of the table, in the lowest four, when it comes to the percentage of alumni for which they report employment data. Most schools report around 95% My feeling is that alumni who are not reported are often not working. Strathclyde is horrific - only two in three report; at Hult it's four in five.
PS I see that Strathclyde also comes 99th out of 100 for 'Aims Achieved'. I'd expect it to leave next year...

I see that Strathclyde also comes 99th out of 100 for 'Aims Achieved'.
Ouch. Strathclyde looked promising when it debuted on the ranking in 2008 at spot 30 - but it was an entirely different program then, at least in terms of the cohorts.

As a current Bath MBA student I am thrilled that it is back in the FT Global MBA ranking.
I am of course biased when I say this, but the faculty here is world class, the atmosphere is great and small class sizes ensures everyone has ample opportunity to actively participate in lectures.
I hope that more contemplating taking an MBA in the UK in future also consider Bath as a real option, they have increased the amount of scholarships available for class of 2013-14, paying up to 100% of the fee. It is still one of the more affordable MBA´s compared to other well known ones ;-)

I don't think so! I still think Bradford Aston Durham Edinburgh are better than Bath!

I don't think so! I still think Bradford Aston Durham Edinburgh are better than Bath!

Why do you think that? Compare Bath's data from this year with those schools from last year... why is Bath weaker? If you compare Bath and Lancaster, for example, it's quite possible that they could swap places next year.

I am interested to see the high ranking and closeness of Warwick (28) and Manchester (29) : both of whom provide good value and quality low-attendance programmes as well as Full-Time.

They are both great Business schools, where Warwick is a 1 year program and Manchester almost like a two year, or 16month. I don´t believe ranking is everything, it is a great marketing tool for the schools themselves. It is more about the prospect students career goals need to be aligned with the school he chooses, and which school is able to fulfill these.

I'm considering Imperial for the EMBA, they do better in the EMBA rankings than they do for the FT MBA. Does anyone know when the 2013 EMBA rankings are published by the FT, I can't find them on the website?
I'm going along to this weekend EMBA Admissions event at Imperial - is anyone else going? Does anyone know if they give you an 'informal interview' or what they might ask?
